Aim for Seva ( AIMS) - News and activities

AIMS Girls Chatralaya, Anaikatti

                                                        AIMS Boys Chatralaya, Anaikatti

Pujya Swamiji  composed the AIMS theme song titled ' भारत देश हिताय...' ( Bhaarata desha hitaaya..., for the welfare of Bhaarata,  India) , a song in simple sanskrit based on hindustani raaga ' देश' (raaga ‘desh’ ) which beautifully captures  the spirit of seva. And  this is the content of the theme song for the movement ' Aim for Seva'.

Pujya
Swamiji: " This is an all India Movement for Seva. Every indian should have this awareness of taking care of the people of this country who are isolated and alienated from the mainstream of the society. The people of the country should take care of the people.
Bharata,  Rama’s brother was given the kingdom but he refused. On the insistence of Rama, he ruled the kingdom until Rama returned but purely as a seva to Rama.So Bharata stands for that seva. Not only Rama’s brother there are other Bharatas like the Bharata of  Natyashastra, Bharata the king and Jadabharata – a great sage. All these people besides Panini and others have served this country enrichening its culture and its religion.

Do what you can do to help protect the people living in the remote mountains and dense forests – from Setu ( Rameshwaram in the south) to Himalayas in the north, in the entire country. Their culture, health, longevity, environment - everything is to be protected.

There should be social justice, economic justice, law and order. People respect law and order. Do what you can do to bring about that kind of society by removing the economic poverty and poverty in thinking. How can one do that?

By
 Subhiksha(
सुभिक्षा ) alone.

The word ‘Subhiksha’ (सुभिक्षा ) is generally translated as prosperity. But what is prosperity? Where is the limit? The person who is a recipient should be able to help. When a consumer is able to contribute – then that is called Subhiksha (सुभिक्षा ). Everybody is a consumer. When a consumer besides being just a consumer is able to contribute more than what he consumes – there is Subhiksha.

Thus people should be able to sustain themselves and help others. There are people who are in a condition where they need help. There are people who are not just poor but who are poor in thinking .There are others who require support emotionally.

Therefore wherever there is a necessity to extend a helping hand to somebody one has to do that. We try to pull them up from the place they are in now. Once they are up, they will be able to help others. Wherever they are  -in urban areas or rural areas. There are helpless people all over the world. First we take care of ourpeople here in this country. , then if we achieve the Subhiksha we can help others too. We have no boundaries. In seva there are no boundaries.

That awareness is to be brought about.

AIM for Seva has impacted 35,000 students across 132 projects in 15 States across India from Karnaprayag to Kanyakumari - which is a proof of its commitment and capability. Pujya Sri Swami Dayananda Saraswati’s vision is to ensure every rural /tribal child in India gets a formal school Education by the year 2020.
